Thanks Monica
I would like to say a special thank you to an employee at
my vets office. I took Monica one of my foster dogs into my vets office
for a check up. Monica is just a genuinely sweet 9 year old that just
needed some TLC. She had a horrible skin rash and badly needed a dental.
Everyone at the vets office fell in love with Monica and one person in
particular, April Fendick, one of the vet techs that I have not really had
a lot of contact with. I contacted April the day after our visit as I knew
she felt a special bond with Monica. She said she wanted to talk to her
husband about adopting Monica. I told her to let me know as I would need
to get a dental done on her soon so I could put her up for adoption.
April got back with me and decided to take Monica for the weekend to see
how she would do with her other animals. I was heartbroken when Monica
left, but I knew in my heart that April would give her an excellent home.
I contacted April the day after she took Monica and everything was working
out well. April told me that she wanted to get Monica scheduled for her
dental soon as Monica's mouth was a mess. April wanted to move Monica over
under her name so she could get her discount on the dental. I agreed as
April was sure she was going to keep her.
Monica had her dental and lost 15 teeth and she was fitting in very well
with April & her family. I was relieved that Monica would not only have a
new smile, but lots of love and attention from her boys, and a new leash
on life.
About 3 days after the dental, I received a phone call from April
informing me that her husband loved Monica, but thought that 3 dogs were
just too much for the family to handle and she would have to return Monica
to me. I could tell April was heartbroken about it, but she returned her
to me and told me that getting Monica's dental done was her contribution
to the rescue and making another dogs life better. She wanted nothing in
return.
April has a heart of gold and I would like to personally thank her for her
act of kindness for Monica.
Monica & I still stop by to visit and I can see the love that Monica has
for April as well. It is almost as if she knows how much April cares for
her. April, I thank you and Monica thanks you too for everything. You are
a true inspiration and you have touched our hearts.
