My name is Ruby and my sisters’ name is Roxy. I’ll let her speak for herself after I finish telling you about me. We were both surrendered into rescue after our dad passed away. Our mom has a busy schedule and no longer could spend time with us or give us the attention we deserve. We were both well taken care of and were always up to date on our shots and saw the vet on a regular basis. We like our new foster home a lot, but are now searching for a forever home.
I am the larger of the 2 and a beautiful gal. I am solid black and have jet black eyes. I came to my foster home with a lump under my right eye which started to get bigger. My foster dad took me to the doctor to have it checked out. I actually had a fractured tooth and the root had abscessed. I had a full dental and that fractured tooth pulled the next day and I am all better now. The doctor told my foster dad that I could stand to lose a few pounds, but who couldn’t these days. I like to lay on the couch or the chair over the arm rest and look out the window when I am not playing tug of war with one of the girls here. I just love to play with my toys. There are so many doxies here that look like me but they are all older, so I usually end up playing with my sister Roxy. I guess I’d better let her talk now. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Hello, my name is Roxy and I am the tiny red one in the pictures. I am a lot smaller than my sister. They call me a “teeny weenie.” People love me for my size and I eat it up. I want to tell you I have had a history of seizures, but my foster dad took me to see the doctor and she put me on medication for the seizures. I have not had any since I started the medicine. I enjoy taking it in Liverwurst or cheese. I really don’t even know the pill in there and it’s like I get 2 extra snacks per day. I will need to have my blood tested to check on my liver values and continue my medicine once I come to you, but I am worth it. I like to lie on top of my sister as she sits in the chair. My foster dad thinks it’s funny when I lie on her. I love to give kisses and if you blow in my face when I give kisses, I’ll kiss you even faster. I also like to get kisses and will press the side of my face against your lips to receive all the kisses you want to give to me.
Both of us like to eat and we are potty trained. We prefer to go outside on a leash, but we have a fenced in yard here and need to be reminded why we are outside. We are told to “go potty” and my foster dad means business. He does not joke around when it comes to potty time. We also will let you know if we hear strange noises or anything unusual is going on outside the house. We are crate trained, but prefer to sleep in a big bed with you or to find a nice spot on the floor next to your bed.
We have so much love to give and would make a welcome addition to your home if you would consider adopting us. If you have any questions about us, please feel free to contact our foster dad at Monkeydad3@aol.com Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dachshund in need of a forever home. If we’re the girls for you fill out an application and be sure to put our names on it.
Foster dads note: Ruby and Roxy have been together for Roxy’s entire life and they are bonded. Roxy’s seizures can be stress related, and to place them separately may not work out as they are used to being together. I will not separate them. They are both WONDERFUL girls and have a lot of love to give. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.
