My name is Ollie. I’m a male (neutered) 2-year-old silver dapple dachshund. I was rescued from an abusive home and taken to the animal shelter. That is where my foster mom got me. I was heartworm positive and very underweight. My foster mom took me to the vet and had me treated for heartworms (that wasn’t fun) and started feeding me healthy food and now I am doing great. I’ve been working hard on potty training and I do really well with using a doggy door (I still slip up once in a while). I am full of energy and love to play and go on walks. I sleep in a kennel at night but would love to sleep in the bed with you. I love, love, love to snuggle. I wag my whole body from nose to tail when I’m told I’m a good boy. I’m learning to heel when I go on walks, to sit, lay-down and stay on command, and I’m really good at coming when called. I do like to chew on socks, underwear and blankets from the laundry room, but my foster family has been working with me to teach me not to do this. I need a home without cats because I do not get along with them. I get along well with the other doxies in my foster home, but I can get a little territorial of new dogs coming in to my home. I’ve been working with my foster mom and a trainer to improve this behavior.
