Why hello there! My name is Alfie and I am an active senior that loves
to play with balls and empty 2 liters. I found my fascination with the
empty 2 liters when I realized that they made great toys and they are
very loud! They are perfect for getting attention from the humans. I
like to play tug-of-war with a KONG toy.
I lived with my mom for the past 10 years until she decided that she was
too old and I was too much work so she gave me to an even older man, he
was 82. I had to go to the vet because I have an allergy to chicken and
or beef, he and his daughter decided that he was too old to take care of
me too. My foster mom picked me up and I have been living with her and
her husband and 4 dogs (at one time there were 8 of us!) and while it is
nice there, I really think that I would be so much happier in a smaller
4 legged home. I’m going to let my foster mom take over from here…but
listen before I go I want you to know that I am really cute, I mean
REALLY, and you will not be disappointed when you see me in person!
Alfie came to us as an owner surrender when they realized that the 82
year old father could not take care of Alfie. He is allergic to beef and
or chicken as described above. He got a skin infection due to this and
he is healing nicely. He is pretty well house trained and he makes every
effort to let you know that he needs to go out. He loves to be around
you. We have a doggie door and he refuses to go out but will come in it.
I think the drop down makes him nervous. We also have a cat that he is
not bothered by.
We don’t know much about his life, but he loves Ice and he watches and
knows when you put things down that he might want. We got him special
treats that he can eat and he knows right where they are. He also
alerted us to the 2 liter lust! I recommend that you remove the cap and
extra plastic piece as well as the label! He loves it. He also loves to
play with big balls. The elderly gentleman that he was with got him a
big ball and he chased it and eventually popped it!
Alfie is adorable and took a little time to warm up to us. He
desperately wants to be near you but was afraid that every time you
picked him up you were going to do something invasive to him. He has a
ear that needs attention to keep it from getting infected and I don’t
think that the daughter was patient or too gentle. But a gentle touch
and he is putty in your hands!
